Updated on September 24th, 2021 at 12:35 pm
One would hardly believe that there is so much work available by looking at our state’s unemployment numbers, but there are some great jobs hiring near you! From Grand Rapids to Caledonia to Lowell, the jobs are waiting for the right person to apply, get hired, and do the work. We recently crunched the numbers here at The Job Post and were surprised at what we found.
Manufacturing and Factory Jobs Top the List
The number of factory jobs exploded this month, with positions for General Laborers, Assembler Mold Operators, Kit Assembly, Machine Operators or Machine Operator Assistants, Paint Line Unloaders, Parts Rackers, Production Assembly, Quality Inspectors or Quality Technicians, Robotic Weld Operators, Sorters, Wood Finishers, and more!
Many of the openings for factory jobs are entry-level, but some jobs—such as Quality Inspectors, Laser Operators, and Utility Operators—require experience, education, or certifications. Obviously, these positions offer a higher wage to compensate for the additional skills required.
With regard to availability, warehouse jobs made up the next-highest number of job openings. They were followed by office and clerical job openings, and finally, construction jobs. As with factory jobs, both skilled positions and entry-level jobs are available in other roles.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift Jobs
While slightly more of our openings are on 1st shift, both 2nd and 3rd shift jobs are also in high demand. Whether you are an early morning person or a night owl, there are plenty of jobs available on the shift you prefer.
Full-time Jobs
There is a large disparity between part and full-time jobs available here at The Job Post, with the majority of jobs being full-time. Some jobs are seasonal full-time but those may require you to work 40+ hours per week during peak season.
Overtime is not just for seasonal jobs. Some jobs offer all the overtime you desire, while others are full-time jobs but are employees are scheduled to work 4 days per week.
Felon Friendly Jobs
Individuals with a felony conviction face more obstacles when looking for a job because felons are often not given the same consideration and degree of priority as those with a clear record. Pre-screening through an employment agency such as The Job Post can help you get your foot in the door.
For those who may have made a bad choice in the past and are determined to forge a better path going forward, there are numerous felon friendly jobs available.
For a variety of types of work, shifts, skilled and entry-level jobs, full-time or overtime, and felon friendly opportunities, check out The Job Post and start bringing home that paycheck!
